JOHN ADAMS QUARLES FARMSTEAD
ARCHAEOLOGY DIG

This invitation to Florida, Missouri, to help excavate the "early house" site, the one
Mark Twain referred to as "with fresco falling off the walls.",
is issued by owner Karen A. Hunt.  You have an opportunity to
become part of the Quarles history.

Karen Hunt has a masters in Anthropology
and was the historical archaeologist on the crew
when the Mark Twain Lake and Cannon Reservoir were built.
She says that she hopes to set up a not-for-profit organization to carry on
the restoration development of this site into a "living history farmstead"
with the Quarles house rebuilt.  She intends to turn it all over to the
Mark Twain State Park as part of their historical sites when she dies.
Please contact Karen A. Hunt for more information.
